7 Things I’ve been LOVING lately

With everything that’s been going on in our world, I try to be reminded of the little things in life that can bring the simplest of joys. While I try my best not to be drawn to or become motivated by materialistic items, it’s okay to find those things in your life that spark joy into your daily routine! I love reading and hearing about people’s favourites that they’ve been loving, and so I thought it’d be fun to share with you my 7 things I’ve been loving lately that brings me joy!

Disclaimer: I would never recommend something I didn’t feel made an actual difference or was worth the price. I always do extensive research before making any final purchases. All purchases made in this post are 100% my own!

Moroccanoil treatment is apart of my 7 things I've been loving lately

1. MOROCCANOIL Hair Treatment

Hear me out on this one, because I’m sure once you see the price you’d want to run for the hills. As someone who’s suffered from dry and thick hair her whole life, I’ve noticed how investing in good hair care can seriously make a difference

I got a free sample of the hair oil from a friend, and have been hooked ever since; even going online to make the purchase at Sephora because I knew I had to have the full size in my life. It makes my hair feel soft, tames frizz, and the smell just reminds me of being at a hair salon. (it just smells professional and expensive, you know what I mean? LOL) I’ve really enjoyed using this as apart of my hair routine, and I always look forward to getting to use it! Worth the splurge, and with its near-perfect rating on Sephora I couldn’t agree more.

2. Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones

As someone who still lives at home with an at-home daycare, headphones have become a necessity for my everyday life. This has been perfect for when it’s too noisy in my house, and so I just plop them on and connect them to my laptop or phone via Bluetooth to be able to listen to my podcast or video and block out the busyness around me. While they aren’t noise-canceling (because I wasn’t about to shell out $400 for a pair of headphones) I have no issues with the sound quality, and it does a great job of blocking out the world around me for when I want to focus on what I’m listening too. I got them on sale at BestBuy, and highly recommend! (Plus hello, you can’t say no to that rose-gold colour)

3. Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Lotion

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m terrible at remembering to moisturize my body. When it comes to my face, I use my go-to face moisturizer and have no problems remembering to use that. *If you want to know more about my fave face moisturizer and other beauty products you can check it out in this post.

Ever since I picked up this moisturizer from the drug store, I’ve been hooked. First of all the smell, heavenly. If you love the smell of cocoa or shea butter, then you’ll love this. It soaks up into the skin nicely, but not so fast that you wonder if it did anything at all. I’m always left feeling moisturized, and it leaves the scent behind which I love. If you’re a fan of non-scented moisturizers than this one isn’t it for you. Ever since this purchase, it’s been incorporated into my after-shower routine of moisturizing and my body has definitely thanked me for it. Dryness? Who even is she, we don’t know her.

Moleskine Notebooks are apart of my 7 things I've been loving lately

4. Moleskine Notebooks

Possibly way too overpriced for what it is, but there’s something about the simplicity and feel of a Moleskine notebook that I can’t break away from. I have a collection of Moleskine notebooks, and I continue to fill them up and repurchase. These are the current ones I use on a daily basis, for both personal and work-related notes.

They come in both soft and hardcover; I enjoy both and have no preference. I normally opt for the ruled version (lined), and they’re the journal I gravitate towards most over others I have on my shelf. Personally, they are an important and special item in my life that has brought me so much joy to write in. This is a pure example of “it’s the little things” in life, because writing and journaling has always been a love of mine, and these notebooks only elevate that love further. I purchase mine at Chapters, and there’s normally some on sale!

5. TAN HAT

Over the years, I’d searched high and low for a tan wide-brim hat that wasn’t over $30. I knew in terms of cost per wear, that I didn’t want to break the bank for a hat I probably wasn’t going to wear that often. Fortunately for me, I happened to walk into an Aerie outlet store and saw this tan wide-brim hat. I immediately tried it on and loved it, but saw the original price of being $30. I decided to take the plunge and buy it anyway, but what I failed to realize was that it was on sale, and my total at the cash came to $13 (with me donating 2$ for a charity; so really the price was $11!) It was pretty much meant to be. It brings all my boho dreams to life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Lesson of the day: Outlet malls are the way to go.

6. SONG: PASSION- GLORIOUS DAY (LIVE)

I felt like I had to include this song on this list, because it has been my morning anthem for the past couple weeks. As someone who was having a bit of a difficult time over the winter months with my faith, It got to the point where I couldn’t listen to worship music anymore without crying. I heard this song at a women’s conference during those times, and the power and spirit in that room during this song was undeniable! The whole room was jumping, dancing, and singing and the joy I feel when I listen to this song washes away those worries and anxieties. Even if you’re not a Christian, this song is actually a banger LOL. 10/10 recommend.

7. Birkenstock Sandals

Ah yes, the controversial sandal had to make this list. My once beloved pointy-toed TOMS had stretched to the point of no return, and so I needed a pair of slip-on shoes ASAP. I wanted to find a pair of sandals that were sturdy, long-lasting, and had support. All my research led me to Birkenstocks, with the countless amounts of raving reviews of the comfort and support. I decided to go with the white coloured sandal over brown, since I knew they’d have a chance of going with my summer dresses and outfits better.

The classic style Birkenstock is normally the ‘Arizona’ style, but this is the ‘Mayari’ style. I purchased mine at SoftMoc in a size 39. For size reference, I have wide feet that can range in size anywhere from 8-9 with 8.5 being my normal go-to (all depends on the shoe!).

I use all of these on a weekly; if not daily basis! I’d love to know what your thoughts are, and what things you’ve been loving recently! Share them in the comments below.

Till next time,
